Acompany Raises JPY 1.1bn Series B

Acompany, part of Plug and Play Japan's FinTech Batch No. 6, has completed its Series B round, raising approximately 1.1 billion yen through a third-party allocation of new shares. SBI Investment served as the lead investor, with participation from Globis Capital Partners, Central Japan Innovation Capital, Hiroaki Sugita, and Kunihiro Tanaka, among others. With this funding, the company's total capital raised has reached approximately 2.1 billion yen.

Purpose of Funding

With the evolution of generative AI, data utilization has become a source of competitive advantage across all businesses. Meanwhile, issues surrounding data—such as personal information leaks, privacy violations, and security risks—have become increasingly complex and serious.

To address these challenges, hardware-based confidential computing, which enables "data protection while utilizing it," is attracting worldwide attention. This market is expected to grow to 350 billion USD (approximately 50.75 trillion yen) by 2032. Major tech companies including Apple with "Apple Intelligence," as well as Google and Meta, have already begun implementation.

Acompany, in response to these global trends, is building infrastructure that balances both "defense" and "offense," allowing businesses and society to utilize data with confidence.

The funds raised in this round will be invested in:

  1. Advancing product development and research in hardware-based confidential computing
  2. Strengthening human resources and organizational structure for business expansion domestically and internationally

Acompany's mission is "Trust. Data. AI. (Bringing trust to all data and AI utilization)" and aims to realize a trustworthy data society where all data and AI can be utilized with confidence.

Future Outlook

Acompany will expand its business domains with international expansion in mind, accelerating joint research with global companies and exploring full-scale global entry.

In Japan, the company will expand beyond healthcare, finance, and digital marketing sectors into economic security and defense areas, creating a future where Japanese innovation is recognized and chosen worldwide.
