AgeWellJapan Raises a Total of JPY 310m

AgeWellJapan, which operates the "Motto Mate" grandchild companion service and the multi-generational community space "MOTTOBA!", and was part of Plug and Play Japan's InsurTech Batch No. 10, has secured new funding. This round marks the first investment from the "Region, People, and Future CJS2 Fund" and UNERI Corporation, bringing the total amount raised to 310 million yen. Moving forward, the company will focus on promoting business co-creation to realize an Age-Well society and strengthen talent acquisition.

Background and Purpose of Funding

AgeWellJapan has been developing businesses aimed at expanding a new senior market beyond medical care and nursing care, with the vision of creating an "Age-Well society where people age positively through challenges and discoveries." Through various initiatives centered on multi-generational interaction, including developing talent who addresses seniors' true needs and co-creating businesses involving seniors and service providers, the company aims to realize a "society where people want to live until 100."

In this funding round, the company received investments from two organizations: the "Region, People, and Future CJS2 Fund," which supports entrepreneurs addressing regional challenges, and "UNERI Corporation," which accompanies startups tackling social issues. This marks the first investment case for both organizations, realized through the resonance between their respective philosophies and AgeWellJapan's vision. With this funding, the company will create new products and services in collaboration with companies that share Age-Well values, promote sustainable community development, and strengthen talent acquisition.

The Age-Well Future

AgeWellJapan is an impact startup aiming to realize a "society where people want to live until 100." AgeWellJapan has had extensive internal discussions about its vision for the future and defined it in a single illustration. This is called a Theory of Change, which organizes the positioning of its business and its relationship with social issues. By publishing this as Version 1, AgeWellJapan hopes to visualize and share the society it aims for, and convey its vision to everyone involved. As an impact startup, AgeWellJapan will tackle both economic growth and impact measurement/management.
