"BaaS by GMO Aozora" for 01 Bank, a 100% Subsidiary of Ikeda Senshu Holdings
GMO Aozora Net Bank is providing banking functions such as deposits, loans, and credit analysis in a BaaS format to contribute to the operation of a "data-driven banking system that aims to provide "security and safety," "flexibility," "low cost," and "high-quality UI/UX" by 01 Bank, a 100% subsidiary of Ikeda Senshu Holdings.
01Bank also evaluated GMO Aozora Net Bank's BaaS achievements and adopted "BaaS by GMO Aozora." Through BaaS service customization and testing conducted by both companies towards a launch, the partners have decided on an opening on Monday, July 28.
Joint Initiatives
The initiative between GMO Aozora Net Bank and 01Bank is innovative in that it involves a bank providing services and functions as BaaS to another bank in the construction of 01Bank's banking system. In February 2024, the preparation project for opening began in earnest.
As a "behind-the-scenes bank," GMO Aozora Net Bank supports business operators so they can focus on developing and providing services that end users truly need, regardless of whether they are financial or non-financial, without being constrained by conventional financial institution concepts. As a result of continuously strengthening GMO Aozora Net Bank's BaaS proposals and provision by segmenting various banking functions including banking APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and providing them as components, GMO Aozora Net Bank has achieved over 800 contracts, contributing to the creation of new digital services and improvement of customer experience value.
01Bank is a digital bank with no physical branches that targets businesses. Using cloud services provided by Makuake and ZAICO as its gateway, 01Bank provides new financial services to businesses that utilize the wealth of transaction data available from cloud services, in addition to the deposit and withdrawal data from the financial institutions that businesses normally use, and supports the growth of its users.
Even after 01Bank's opening, GMO Aozora Net Bank will continue to pursue functions and services that end users demand together with 01Bank, support from the banking system perspective, and continue to contribute to maximizing Japan's financial value through BaaS.
