Hokuyo Bank and Hokkaido Co-Creation Partners have established the “Hokuyo SDGs Promotion Fund №3” (hereinafter “Fund №3”) as a successor to the “Hokuyo SDGs Promotion Fund №2” (hereinafter “Fund №2”).

#### Performance of Fund №2

Fund №2 was established in June 2022 with the aim of contributing to Hokkaido’s sustainable development by solving regional business challenges through funding companies that align with SDGs concepts. Over 2 years and 4 months, the fund invested approximately 400 million yen in 21 companies, primarily startups, achieving notable results in promoting entrepreneurship, employment, and economic growth in Hokkaido.

#### Background of New Fund Establishment

With the government’s 5-year startup development plan and the launch of Startup Hokkaido, momentum for startup support has been increasing. Fund №2 utilized its full capacity over 2 years and 4 months. As startup creation and funding needs are expected to continue, and as a regional financial institution, we need to maintain our support, we have established Fund №3.

Hokuyo Bank will continue to support the revitalization of Hokkaido’s economy and the growth and development of local companies through investments from this fund.

From Fund №3, to achieve group synergy effects, the fund management company has been designated as Hokuyo Bank’s subsidiary, Hokkaido Co-Creation Partners. Until now, this role was handled by the Hokkaido 21st Century Research Institute (Sapporo).
