FinCity.Tokyo Launches "English Information Disclosure Support Program"

The Organization of Global Financial City Tokyo (FinCity.Tokyo) aims to enhance the appeal of the Tokyo financial market as a top international financial center by supporting listed companies (especially those listed on Growth and Standard markets) in improving their English information disclosure and IR activities, thereby attracting overseas investment and revitalizing the market.

  1. Target Applicants:
    • Companies already listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) Growth Market or Standard Market.
    • Market capitalization under 100 billion JPY as of April 1, 2025 (or the listing/application date for newly listed/applying companies).
    • No parent company listed on the TSE Prime Market.
    • Headquarters, branch, or office in Tokyo.
    • Have or plan to establish an IR system capable of targeting overseas investors, with a willingness to improve English disclosure and IR.
    • Meet various legal and ethical requirements (no tax arrears, no legal/regulatory violations, no involvement with organized crime, etc.).
  2. Support Provided (Free of Charge): The program aims to help selected companies improve their IR towards overseas investors. This is implemented by outsourced IR support providers. Support includes:
    • Building an "equity story" appealing to international investors.
    • Advice on and English translation of financial results reports and IR presentation materials.
    • Advice on communication with overseas investors.
    • Production of English IR videos (approx. 2-3 minutes).
    • The specific content of support may be adjusted based on the selected company's situation.
  3. Selection Process:
    • Applications are submitted via an online form on the FinCity.Tokyo website.
    • Screening is based on the application content, potentially involving interviews.
    • A Selection Committee (including external experts) evaluates applicants based on specific criteria.
    • Approximately 15 companies will be selected.
    • The screening process and committee evaluations are non-public.
  4. Key Dates:
    • Application Start Date: April 25, 2025 (Friday).
    • Application End Date: When the target number of selected businesses is reached.
    • Program Duration: From the selection date until the end of the fiscal year (March 31st) in which the company is selected (e.g., if selected in FY2025, support runs until March 31, 2026).
  5. Obligations of Selected Companies:
    • Comply with the program guidelines.
    • Report regularly (twice a year, at the time of interim and full-year financial results announcements, for 2 years after the fiscal year of selection ends) on the program's effectiveness.
    • Allow their name and a summary of their profile to be published on FinCity.Tokyo's website and SNS.
    • May be requested to speak or participate in FinCity.Tokyo events related to the program.
    • Diligently work to enhance their IR activities based on the support received.
  6. Withdrawal and Cancellation:
    • Selected companies can withdraw their selection status if they disagree with the program content by submitting a specific form.
    • FinCity.Tokyo can cancel the selection if the company acts contrary to the program's purpose, engages in inappropriate behavior, or violates public order/morals, potentially requiring repayment of support costs.
  7. Confidentiality: Information obtained during the application and selection process is generally confidential, but personal information may be used for program purposes and shared with relevant parties (FinCity.Tokyo, outsourced providers). Information regarding selected companies and the support program may be disclosed to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government upon request.
