Hokkoku Financial Group announced the initiation of building a full cloud-based acquiring system in collaboration with Visa Worldwide Japan and Infcurion.
As part of the Super Cashless Region project aimed at promoting cashless payments and realizing a digital society in the Hokuriku region, and the Next-Generation Regional Digital Platform Building project to provide better financial services and improve operational efficiency in banking, Hokkoku FG has decided to initiate the construction of a full cloud-based acquiring system utilizing Visa’s globally deployed solutions, “Visa Cloud Connect” and “Visa Platform Connect”.
This system, built on the cloud, is equipped with functions necessary for acquiring operations such as authorization, clearing, merchant settlement and management, and connections to payment centers and international brands. It can be utilized not only for Hokkoku Bank’s card business but also by external business operators.
For the international brand connection function, Hokkoku FG will be the first domestic company to utilize “Visa Cloud Connect” to securely connect to VisaNet through the cloud. Additionally, by leveraging the payment solution “Visa Platform Connect,” which features diverse functions to enhance the consumer payment experience for functions such as payment center connections, authorization, and others, the system aims to achieve the following three main goals:
- Reduce network costs incurred during authorization to provide card payment processing services at a lower cost than before.
- Provide a wide range of advanced technologies, including encrypted tokens, fraud detection, NFC touch payments on smartphones and tablets, and more.
- Deliver high-level processing performance, advanced security, and flexible system function improvements through a payment system compliant with international standards.
Furthermore, with Infcurion participating as a development partner, the system will promote the development of highly flexible services that can accommodate individual needs.
