justInCaseTechnologies introduced a new development and operation system by partnering with major solution providers to enhance the value of its SaaS-based insurance system “joinsure”. The first three partners include AGREX under TIS Intec Group, DENTSU SOKEN, and GNUS.
In Japan’s financial industry, legacy systems are widely used, resulting in increasing maintenance costs. At the same time, a shortage of engineers is an unsolved issue, particularly in the fintech sector, including insurance. To address this issue, the solutions of SaaS-based systems are increasingly adopted due to its cost-effectiveness, short development cycles, and the ability of being configured in part with no code.
With justInCaseTechnologies’ SaaS-based system “joinsure, the company aims to contribute to solving the problems of the financial industry, including insurance, and has gained the support of AGREX, DENTSU SOKEN, and GNUS, who share this vision. To meet the rapidly growing demand for system development and services utilizing “joinsure” and reach a higher level, justInCaseTechnologies will continue to expand their partner network.

Through collaboration with partners, the firm will first establish a stable service delivery system with integration partners, while responding to the detailed needs of each project. Additionally, business development partners will help to originate new embedded insurance cases.
Furthermore, justInCaseTechnologies aims to build “joinsure” integrations with various external services by App partners such as electronic money services for insurance premiums and claims payments, BI tools for visualizing and analyzing data, and chatbot systems for inquiries, as well as a marketplace where all these services can be used as plug-in applications.
Evolution of “joinsure”
justInCaseTechnologies launched the “joinsure” service in January 2021. Leveraging the advantages of SaaS-based systems with low development costs and fast development speed, “joinsure” has continuously evolved by addressing customer needs and supporting the development of a wide range of applications over the past three years.
In March 2023, the core system started operation, and since then, the company has rapidly released a wide range of applications such as support for extended warranties, comprehensive property insurance, and digital insurance claims. In 2024, justInCaseTechnologies plans to further release a couple of new features, including support for multiple insured parties, flexible account registration, and an editor for insurance application and claims filing that can be configured without code.

As functionality expands, platformers continue to progress. For example, justInCaseTechnologies supports the digitalization of customer touchpoints and business efficiency improvements at credit card companies that offer Ponta point services, including VIEW cards and JFR cards. Additionally, justInCaseTechnologies systems have been deployed in various industries and scales, from the core system for Tokio Marine X SAST Insurance, the comprehensive property insurance application system for Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance to the digital insurance claims system for Aqua Insurance.
Future Outlook
The “joinsure” suite consists of products that support insurance application, policy management, and insurance claims management. It is widely used as a middleware in the scenarios of new company establishment, new product developments, and collaboration with platforms. The suite not only provides a SaaS-based systems with flexibility and scalability but also offers consulting services for business and requirements definition and support for selling insurance products, applicable for small-amount short-term insurance, life insurance, and property and casualty insurance businesses. In addition to achieving significant cost savings in development costs, “joinsure” enables insurers to quickly introduce insurance products to the market, collaborate with platforms to promote a variety of embedded insurances that meet customer needs.
In 2023, justInCaseTechnologies has also announced the collaboration with Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance. For the sake of enhancing customer experience, the partners will jointly develop insurance products and services, build a new insurance application system, and create new businesses together to quickly develop insurance products that meet various needs and provide them in collaboration with platforms.
justInCaseTechnologies will continue to accelerate the development of applications and grow “joinsure” into a SaaS-based system that is suitable for a wider range of companies. Furthermore, justInCaseTechnologies will continue to collaborate with companies in the insurance and extended warranty fields to promote the provision of embedded insurances that meet various customer needs, strengthen the newly established partner system with solution providers, and provide support to the collaboration between platforms and insurance companies.
