Oasys partners with Korea’s SK Planet for onboarding into the Oasys Web3 gaming ecosystem

Gaming blockchain Oasys has entered into a partnership with SK Planet, one of South Korea’s leading information and communications technology platforms.

The companies will combine resources to transform the blockchain gaming and rewards landscape, with Oasys leveraging SK Planet’s vast user base and technological prowess to onboard more users to Web3 gaming.

SK Planet’s popular digital wallet UPTN Station is set to integrate Oasys Hub (Layer 1), unlocking a world of opportunities for blockchain-related services. With SK Planet becoming Oasys’ new validator, users can soon stake OAS tokens directly to the SK Planet node directly from their wallets. There are also plans for UPTN Station to incorporate games on Layer 2s on Oasys, further diversifying the gaming options available to users.

OK Cashbag, operated by SK Planet, boasts a vast network and extensive user base, with 75,000 affiliated stores and 28 million members. Partnering with SK Planet opens access for Oasys to this significant Korean market.

“Game developers will gain access to a massive platform for exposure, while gamers themselves get to enjoy a richer variety of content. The Oasys ecosystem is growing through partnerships with gaming companies and mainstream corporations with millions of users. In addition to Korea’s SK Planet, these include Softbank and KDDI from Japan. Such partnership networks and channels unlock new opportunities by integrating the currently fragmented user journey and distribution channel of Web3 game contents into seamless ones, aggregating user verification, payment, and promotion,” said Daiki Moriyama, Director of Oasys.

Under the partnership, a new channel will be developed for users to elevate their gaming experience. UPTN Station’s upcoming community functions will also offer direct exposure to various gaming content on Oasys, with campaigns to foster more active user engagement in Web3.

At a later stage, users can anticipate the integration of UPTN Station into Oasys’ Verse (Layer2) to enjoy collaborations and campaigns from games on Oasys directly. With a number of hit titles scheduled for release on Oasys in 2024, there is great potential for engagement with beloved games such as Battle for Three Kingdoms and Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, among others.
