Sumitomo Life has made an investment in EverEx through its CVC fund "SUMISEI INNOVATION FUND", operated by SBI Investment.

Background of the Investment

Sumitomo Life aims to provide services that contribute to customers' well-being through WaaS (Well-being as a Service), centered on the Vitality health program that supports customers' health improvement.

EverEx is a Korean startup that develops AI-powered personalized digital therapeutics for patients with musculoskeletal disorders affecting the knees, lower back, neck, and shoulders, based on the concept of "realizing a world where everyone can receive individualized rehabilitation anytime, anywhere."

Currently, EverEx operates its services primarily in Korea and the United States, with plans to expand to the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and other countries worldwide.

As Sumitomo Life advances the development of services that contribute to customers' well-being through WaaS, the company was impressed by EverEx's business concept and decided to make this investment with a view to incorporating advanced business seeds and utilizing them in WaaS.

Collaboration Details with EverEx

Going forward, Sumitomo Life aims to develop solutions that can contribute to improving the health and quality of life of individual patients in the "Disease Management (happiness even with illness)" field within WaaS.

Sumitomo Life believes that EverEx's AI technology and digital technology can be effectively utilized for this purpose, and through collaboration between both parties, Sumitomo Life expects that expanding personalized prevention management, treatment, and rehabilitation services will ultimately contribute to its customers' well-being.

EverEx's Products and Services Overview

Rehabilitation: Without requiring specific devices or equipment, exercise videos tailored to the patient's physical condition are displayed on a smartphone screen, and their implementation status is remotely monitored by medical institutions.
AI: Specialized in functional assessment of the musculoskeletal system, personalized exercises are suggested to patients through AI.
CBT: Approaches both human cognition (thinking and perception) and behavior to achieve physical function recovery and improvement.
