The “Rakuten Plus” series are index funds managed by Rakuten Asset Management that aim to operate and provide at the industry’s lowest trust fees by flexibly lowering the trust fee rate in principle compared to other similar investment trusts. In addition, the funds in this series are also eligible for Rakuten Securities’ “Investment Trust Balance Point Program”, allowing customers to earn points based on the monthly average balance in their general, specified, NISA, and minor accounts, which is another attractive feature. Reaching 100 billion yen in total net assets and tripling since the beginning of the year in just over 3 months after launch indicates that many customers have recognized these appealing aspects of the “Rakuten Plus” series. Furthermore, two new funds were added on January 30, 2023, bringing the “Rakuten Plus” series to a total of six funds.

Rakuten Securities is working to provide asset building at low cost, such as the Robo-Advisor service “Easy Investment” that proposes optimal investment courses by simply answering nine questions, the introduction of “Rakuten Card” and online e-money “Rakuten Cash” payments that allow earning points with investment trust installments, and expanding services where accumulated points can be used to purchase investment trusts and more. Rakuten Securities is also currently the only company among the top five in the industry to offer a “Regular Liquidation Service” that automatically sells investment trusts every month according to preset criteria, usable even with NISA accounts, fully supporting customers from the beginning to the end of asset building.
