Tokyo Star Bank & Global Trust Networks to Offer Financial Services to Foreigners
Tokyo Star Bank and Global Trust Networks, which specializes in foreign residents and comprehensively provides services supporting life in Japan including housing, employment, telecommunications, and finance, have signed a basic agreement and commenced collaboration to realize financial services for foreign residents in Japan.
The number of foreign residents in Japan continues to increase, reaching a record high of 3.95 million as of the end of June 2025. With advancing declining birthrate, aging population, and labor shortages, foreign workers have become indispensable to Japan's sustainable growth. However, due to language and cultural barriers, challenges in daily life and financial aspects remain significant, making the establishment of a comprehensive support system an urgent matter.
Tokyo Star Bank has supported the lives of foreign residents from a financial perspective through account opening assistance, housing loan provision, and multilingual support. Meanwhile, GTN has supported the living foundation of foreign residents by providing one-stop services necessary for life in Japan, such as housing, telecommunications, and employment support. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to integrate their strengths and create a new service model that unifies daily life and finance.
Both companies will jointly build a new financial model that supports an environment where foreign residents can live and work in Japan with peace of mind, contributing to the sustainable growth of Japanese society.
