Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking, Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Systems, and Trust have concluded a business partnership agreement aimed at improving system development productivity through the utilization of generative AI.

Trust was founded in 2023 and is a startup that provides services to streamline system development using generative AI. According to the company, this is the first time that a major financial institution and a startup have partnered in the field of system development using generative AI.

1. Background and Purpose of the Partnership

In the financial industry, system modernization has become an urgent issue due to rapid digitalization progress. Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Systems have been conducting discussions with Trust regarding reducing operational burdens in system development, including utilization of accumulated large volumes of documents, legacy code analysis, and testing efficiency improvements.

This business partnership seeks new approaches to these challenges through generative AI utilization, with the purpose of building effective solutions through further technical verification.

2. Future Prospects

Through this partnership, the three companies will leverage Trust's expertise in the generative AI solution "Trust TLanP®" for legacy system modernization to maximize the potential of generative AI, aiming to improve development work efficiency and enhance technical capabilities. This will advance initiatives toward solving challenges in the development sites of Mitsubishi UFJ Trust & Banking and Mitsubishi UFJ Trust Systems.

Trust TLanP® is an AI solution that utilizes unique technology combining Trust's financial IT system expertise with generative AI to analyze existing source code and automatically generate design documents, test data, and test cases.
